GROW & Word Courses

Hearing God
28 April & 5 May 2018 (Saturdays)
1.00pm – 4.00pm
Facilitator: Mr Rupert Lim

Jesus said “He who has ears to hear, let him hear” 15 times in the New Testament.
This shows how important it is to God that we hear Him.

We often hear believers make this statement; “how do I hear God?”
Many of us want to be led by the Lord, we want to hear what He has to say about our situations,
we want to get directions from Him pertaining the things in our lives like our finances,
our children and our work but somehow do not know how to hear Him.

With all the noise that we get bombarded with in our world today, and the many things that are out to grab our attention,
it is getting increasingly challenging to recognize what God is saying to us.
The good news is, God is speaking and does want to speak to us.
God has promised to lead His children by His Spirit and he will definitely enable us to know His voice.
This means that you can learn to know what the Spirit of God is saying to you about each situation.
It is not God’s desire that we should go through life blindly making decisions or relying on your own abilities.

In this module of Hearing God, we will look at the how (practical ways), the why, the hindrances and pitfalls involved in learning to hear God.

Personal Holiness
12 & 19 May 2018 (Saturdays)
1.00pm – 3.30pm
Facilitator: Rev. Vincent Goh

The course is developed by Dr Bruce Wilkinson, the former President of Walk Thru the Bible Ministries.
It comprises of four sessions in the coursework to help Christians to find holiness in a world filled with temptation.
The participants will be provided with biblical guidance and real-life examples on how to cultivate personal holiness
against the current challenges of worldly temptations.
Here are 4 questions that the course will be focused to address to give participants practical ways to live out their Christian life:

- What is the difference between seeking holiness and striving for perfection?
- How can we effectively say “no” when Satan tempts us to sin?
- What provisions has God given us to overcome sexual temptations?
- How can we find forgiveness from sin and maintain a pure lifestyle?

“Holiness is the lifestyle target for every follower of Christ who desires authenticity in his or her Christian experience.
Temptation threatens the joy of the pursuit, and falling into temptation denies us the privilege.”

What’s My S.H.A.P.E.?
God did not design ministry for just a few with seminary degrees. At CMC, we believe that every member of our church is a minister.
During this course you will learn how God can use your Spiritual Gifts, your Heart (passions), your Abilities, your Personality and your Experiences
to minister to the needs of others. When you chose to follow Christ, you were given special abilities, known as Spiritual Gifts.
God gave you these gifts for you to use to build up His Church. God also gave you passion for particular activities and subject.
Having the heart for specific things, people or circumstances is to be used to guide us into a ministry that we really care about.
In these sessions, you will be shown how to assess your abilities, gifts and passions to see where in ministry you may be fitted to serve.
