Leadership Mentor, Covenant Evangelical Free Church

Rev. Edmund Chan is a seasoned disciplemaking pastor.
The Leadership Mentor in Covenant Evangelical Free Church, Edmund is widely regarded as an insightful Bible expositor and a wise mentor of Christian leaders.
In 1995, he launched the annual Intentional Disciplemaking Church (IDMC) Conference, which has been attended by over 1000 pastors and disciplemaking leaders from more than 150 churches across 18 countries.
He also serves on the advisory council of several Christian organizations.

Edmund has authored Built To Last: Towards A Disciplemaking Church,
Growing Deep in God, Mentoring Paradigms and Growing Deep in Faith.
He graduated summa cum laude from Trinity Evangelical Divinity School with an MA (Missions). He is married to Ann Chan, who serves as an Associate Pastor, and have two daughters, Amanda and Belicia.


A. Registration

1. How do I secure a place?

Registration is on a first-come-first-serve basis.
Registration can either be done online or through a hardcopy registration form.
Full payment must be made at the Camp Payment Booth at Level 1, Fellowship Deck to secure a place.

If you intend to room with others, please register together on the same registration form / submission.
Please submit only one form per room.
If you require additional forms, they are available at the camp payment booth, church office or info counter.

2. When is the deadline for registration?

The last day of payment for registration is 8 April 2018, but it may close earlier if the camp is fully booked.
There are up to 500 places available.

3. Can I extend my stay before / after the camp?

Extension of stay is subject to room availability and will be handled separately.

B. Payment

1. How much do I have to pay for a room?

Please refer to the Room Information and Pricing List in the Annex.
The prices indicated include 4D3N accommodation, meals (3 x breakfast, lunch & dinner), a place in all the planned programmes and a camp pack.
Coach transport fees are charged separately and cover the round trip and a lunch.
Coach transport fees cannot be pro-rated if only one- way transport is consumed.

2. How do I pay?

CHEQUES PREFERRED, crossed and issued to Christ Methodist Church with the “Christ Methodist Church”, contact person and contact number written on the back.
Cash payment is accepted, but not encouraged.
Mixed payment mode of cheque and cash for a single form / submission will not be accepted.

Payment can be made at the Camp Payment Booth at Level 1, Fellowship Deck on the following dates:
10/11 February, 24/25 February, 10/11 March, 24/25 March, 7/8 April.
Camp fees are to be paid on a per room basis per registration submission.

3. Are the fees pro-rated if I join or leave halfway through the camp?

No, partial attendance will be charged full price.

C. Cancellations & Refunds

How do I cancel my registration? Can I get a refund?

Cancellation must be made in writing to by 29 April 2018 to qualify for a refund.

D. Getting There

How long is the coach journey to Avani Sepang Goldcoast Resort?

It is approximately 7 hours, including immigration clearance, toilet breaks and lunch.
More information will be provided at the camp briefing on 27 May 2018.

How else can I get to Avani Sepang Goldcoast Resort?

You may also take a flight or self-drive to the venue, but you will need to make your own arrangements.
The programme is planned to start at 4pm on 4 June 2018 and end at 2pm on 7 June 2018.
We seek your patience and understanding should there be delays in the programme.

For travel via plane, the nearest airport is Kuala Lumpur International Airport.
From there, the easiest way is to take a taxi to Avani Sepang Goldcoast Resort, which should cost no more than RM150.
The ride will take about 45 minutes.

For travel via car, the total travel time from Singapore is approximately 4 hours (not including immigration and traffic).
Please note that vehicles travelling between Singapore and Malaysia are subject to all required tolls, fees and charges.
Motorists are to ensure that there is sufficient value in your Autopass cards.
Please also ensure that your car is registered for Vehicle Entry Permit with the Malaysian Government (for more information, please visit Parking at the resort is free-of- charge but subject to availability.

Do I need to apply for a Visa for Entry into Malaysia?

For Singapore passport holders, no visa is required for a stay of up to 30 days.
For all other passport holders, please visit the Immigration Department of Malaysia online portal ( for more information on visa requirements.

Passport Requirements

Please ensure your passport is valid till at least 31 December 2018.

E. Accommodation

What are the amenities in the room?

Standard 4-Star Malaysian Accommodation (King bed and / or 2 twin beds).
Cable TV / WIFI internet.
Standard toilet amenities include bath towels, toiletries, etc.
Daybed for Single and Twin-share rooms which can be used as an extra bed for a child (see Annex for picture).
*Note that additional standard beds are not available.

F. Travelling With Children

Can I bring my infant and / or child to the camp sessions?

There will be a children’s programme for children between 7 to 12 years old.
If your child is under 7 years old, he/she will not be able to join the children’s programme and will have to be under adult supervision at the main sessions.
We seek your understanding and cooperation to take your child out of the hall should there be any distractions
so that other campers may soak in the sessions without any disruption.

What programme is available for children (7-12 years old)?

We have invited Mr. David Leong, a much sought-after itinerant Children & Families Educator of more than 25 years
to organise and facilitate a series of interactive and fun-filled activities for children between 7 to 12 years old.
David will not be an unfamiliar face, having been invited to speak at ChristKidz Worship Services before.

Are there baby cots available in the rooms?

There are 15 infant cots available free-of-charge on a first-come-first-serve basis.
Please indicate on the registration form if an infant cot is required.

G. Others

Will there be time for leisure activities?

Yes. The afternoons are generally free for you to explore the resort.
We will also be organising an optional trip to Mitsui Outlet Park for an afternoon of shopping.
A nominal fee will be charged for transport.
Details will be provided at the camp briefing on 27 May 2018.

What else is there to do at / near the resort?

The resort offers a wide range of in-house beach and land activities (at an additional charge),
including Bungee Trampoline, Bicycle Tour, Beach Soccer, all-terrain vehicle, etc.
Bookings can be made at the resort.
There is also a spa and an infinity pool on location.

Can I bring a non-CMC member?

We welcome both CMC and non-CMC members.
Please ensure that they are informed that it is a church camp.

Can I bring my domestic helper?

Yes, standard camp fees will apply.

Do I need to buy travel insurance?

Travel insurance is highly recommended, and to be purchased on your own.

H. Preparing For Camp

What do I need to bring to get the most out of the sessions?

Your Bible and a shawl or jacket to keep warm.
Most importantly, bring along an expectation to meet God and be open to the work of the Holy Spirit!
