Date: 8 & 15 July (Saturdays)
Time: 9.30 am to 1.00 pm
Speaker: Jean Tay
Venue: CMC
Be a loving witness to your community and reach out effectively in times of grief. Loss and grief may be a morbid topic or even a taboo for some. The lack of conversations and understanding on it produces discomfort and helplessness even though we desire to help.
Grief is widely experienced and yet little understood. The impact of grief is significant and in fact staggering. Grief reactions can include difficulty managing conflicting emotions or daily functions. It is common to experience numbness, or a lack of concentration or having intrusive thoughts. Learn through this experiential workshop what loss and grief is about and how to competently support and care. Be equipped with the skills and understanding to journey alongside empathically and with love.
Remarks: Meant to be an equipping session for people to minister to people who are facing grief & loss.

A Series of Talks on Death, Loss and Grief.
What happens when someone dies?
Is it wrong for Christians to fear death?
How do we pray difficult prayers?
How do we deal with loss and grief?
Are we prepared when the inevitable happens?
The subject of death can be difficult and even frightening for some. It is an inevitable part of life yet poorly understood and rarely talked about, especially in our Asian culture. The Christian faith, however, has something distinctive and hopeful to offer. Come and hear from spiritual leaders and medical professionals as they speak on death, loss, and grief. Be equipped to face the inevitable and to lend support to others. Knowing what the Bible teaches about these topics should also motivate us to live today in preparation for the hereafter.
