1 Corinthians 2:4–5 (ESV):
“and my speech and my message were not in plausible words of wisdom, but in demonstration of the Spirit and of power, so that your faith might not rest in the wisdom of men but in the power of God.”
The theme of this year’s 8/8 Overnight Prayer is ”Pursue the Anointing!” (1Cor.2:4,5). As we grow deeper in our walk with God, faith and ministry,
God takes us further in all of these three aspects too.
1. We go further in our walk with Him into things we have not experienced before.
2. Our faith is further stretched and tested.
3. And our ministry reach goes further too into places we never thought possible before.
To go further and eventually to accomplish greater things, we cannot do it by our own strength and ability, we need the anointing – God’s supernatural power to be at work in us, through us and for us so He may be made known and truly glorified! We are thankful to God for saving us and we have offered ourselves to serve Him wholeheartedly and that’s just the beginning.
Now, it is time to go further and accomplish greater things. It is time to ask God to fill us with the Holy Spirit, to empower and activate us for ministry and to be His witnesses. It is time to pursue His anointing so that the faith of people we minister to and the people we reach might not rest in the wisdom of men but in the power of God!
Come to this year’s 8/8 Overnight Prayer (8pm, 8 of August to 8am, 9 of August) to worship God and ask for His anointing and be activated! Let’s pursue the anointing together!
