Design Executive

Christian Context of Effective Communications

Effective church communications facilitate the fulfillment of both the great commission (external) and great commandment – to convey the Good News, to help people come to know Jesus Christ as their Savior; to help people become intentional disciples for Christ; and to remind the people to love another as Christ loved us.

“Successful church communicators are attuned to the pulse of their church and the culture outside of the church and strategize ways to built bridges from their community to the church and helps people connect the dots to take their next steps toward Christ once they are there. They are passionate about the church’s vision and care about how it translates to people inside and outside of the church. They defend it. They design it. They care about it.” Succinctly described a different way – “The essential functions of church communicators are to oversee anything people read, hear, watch, touch, or click beyond the pulpit.”

On the road of communications excellence, it is a fundamental premise that it is God’s grace and favour that lets our work accomplishes things of eternal value. Despite poorly designed and executed communications, it is God’s grace that helps people come to know Jesus and help people grow in their faith. Then more so, God uses beautifully designed and carefully crafted communications to accomplish His purposes.

Taking Communications to the Next Level

The role of church communications is evolving with the times…it’s no longer just a weekly bulletin and getting out a couple of posters. Church communications now involve strategy, planning and people who are focused on directing the different communications channels of a church, which includes digital and physical platforms (e.g., Facebook, Instagram, Website, WhatsApp, X (formerly known as Twitter), Mobile app, Print, Environmental etc.) that leverage on intentionally designed multimedia content for greater impact.

The person will work alongside the Communications Team to design, plan, develop and execute creative assets to help meet and communicate the needs of the Church and its family of ministries.

The future potential of the church rests in the hands of people who are thinking and creating ways to communicate the timeless message of the Gospel in a way that connects with the world around us.
